COVID Safety Information for Members – Please read

We are committed to protecting the safety and wellbeing of our employees and members. A COVID-19 risk assessment has been carried out and the Government guidance reviewed. Compliance with both is essential and therefore the following safety measures must be adhered to.

  • Please do not visit the Club if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, high temperature, sore throat, loss of taste or smell).
  • There is reduced capacity in the club, to comply with social distancing rules.
  • Guests and affiliation card holders welcome. Please use the signing in books. You will also be registered at the bar for NHS Test and Trace.
  • Children must remain seated with their parents or guardians.
  • Dogs are permitted in the front bar but must be kept on a lead.
  • We are starting off with reduced opening days and times. Please see separate notice. There are several reasons for this: including increased staffing costs, extra cleaning, and probable reduction of income.
  • Hand sanitisation points throughout the Club. Please use these upon entering the club and throughout your visit.

Tables and Seating

  • Indoor Tables - Indoor gatherings should only be occurring in groups of up to 2 households (including support bubbles).
  • You must remain seated at your table, unless ordering drinks, using the toilets, going outside for a cigarette, or using the fruit machines.
  • You should not move to other tables or loiter near other people who are seated at their tables.
  • Tables and chairs must not be moved under any circumstances. They have been set out to maximise seating and comply with the 1m+ rule.
  • No sitting, standing, or drinking at the bar unless queuing to be served.

The Garden

  • There are tables set up in the garden following the same 1m+ rule.
  • Outdoor Tables - Outdoor gatherings should only be occurring in groups of up to 2 households (or support bubbles), or a group of at most 6 people from any number of households.
  • There is limited standing room for smokers. If you do not have a table, please go back inside when you have finished your cigarette to allow other smokers to use the space.
  • Drinks must not be taken outside unless you have a seat at a table which conforms to the aforementioned rules.
  • The garden is small and there will be social distancing breaches if there are too many people outside at once. Hence the restrictions.
  • The garden will be monitored and if we find members flouting the rules then further restrictions will be put in place. Please don’t ruin it for everyone else.

Ordering drinks

  • There will be 2 drink ordering stations at the bar. There are screens up to protect the staff and members. Order and collect your drinks at these designated points only.
  • Membership cards must be produced upon your first drinks order for you and everyone seated with you. The time and date of your visit will be recorded for NHS Test and Trace. These details will be kept for 21 days.
  • Please do not return your empty glasses to the bar. There is a table by the small bar where you can put them (near the fruit machines).

  • Please pay by contactless if possible.
  • You can set up a bar tab on your first order to limit the number of payment transactions during your visit. This must be paid before you leave. The tab will be recorded with your name.
  • Alternatively, you may purchase drinks in advance. You will be given a ticket with the remaining drinks on.

Entertainment and Activities (Will be regularly reviewed as Government guidance is updated)

  • Wednesday bingo and quiz restarting on Wednesday 9th September.
  • Sunday quiz restarting on 27th September.
  • No raffles or totes for the moment.
  • No darts for now due to lack of space, and social distancing rules.
  • Snooker is permitted with a maximum of 4 people per table.
  • No loud music. Background music only so that people do not have to shout. Music will only be played on the Club iPod.
  • The projector screen and the TV near the stairs can be used for sport with the volume on low. The other TV will be off as it is not in view of any current table arrangements.
  • There will be some live entertainment, please see posters for details.
  • Strictly one person at a time on each fruit machine. They are spaced apart enough to comply with the 1m+ if there is only one-person max on each machine. There are wipes next to the machines for you to sanitise them before use. They will also be cleaned regularly by staff.

Please help us keep the club safe.

  • Always maintain a social distance of 1m+ in the club, garden, and toilets.
  • Practice the highest hygiene standards. Wash and sanitise your hands regularly during your visit.
  • No shaking hands or hugging people you do not live with.
  • Please respect the staff and committee if they must remind you of the COVID-19 rules.
  • The COVID-19 rules are adopted as club rules during this pandemic.
  • The club could be inspected at any time. Rule breaks could mean fines or enforced closure of the club. Therefore, any breaches of these rules will not be tolerated. You may be asked to leave if you do not conform.
  • Be compliant with all signage and instructions.

All the above is subject to review in line with updates from the Government. Please always adhere to the rules and help keep yourself, other members, and the staff safe.
